Want to help improve postnatal care?

The government run Midwifery Postnatal Care Access Project are conducting a survey and are looking for women in Australia, who have had a baby(ies) in the past 5 years, to provide us with information about their first 2 weeks at home with their new baby(ies), especially about access to a midwife.

What is the Midwifery Postnatal Care Access Project?

The project seeks to answer the question about the availability of midwifery care at home up to 2 weeks after giving birth. It is one item of the National Maternity Services Plan 2010–2015.

Why are we conducting the survey?

This survey is part of the implementation of the National Maternity Services Plan for the whole of Australia. You can view the plan at http://www.health.gov.au/internet/main/publishing.nsf/Content/maternityservicesplan. The results of the survey will be used to improve maternity services in Australia and identify any gaps in those services.
